Learning a language by oneself is always a difficult task. Learning Japanese is even more of a challenge due to the difficulty of becoming acquainted at the same time with a very different grammar and an extremely complex writing system. |
Years ago while working with Japanese engineers I tried to learn a few Kanjis but did not persevere. After I retired and having now plenty of time I decided to give it another try. I started with a very good Kanji dictionary and the most excellent books I could find on Japanese verbs. I also discovered some very interesting sites on the web. |
From the start I wanted to use the power of my PC to help me better remember the material I was discovering. I used for that purpose some software I had previously written, a Windows application with which I could build the file(s) that you are looking at. |
My main goal was to facilitate the study of Japanese verbs by providing easy and quick access to information that are scattered through various media. I achieved this goal by giving the reader the ability to navigate easily and rapidly through such different topics as verb forms, verb usage, actual examples, Kanji description, etc... |
This project is however not finished. On the contrary it is a permanent "work in progress" as I keep adding new entries while continuing to study Japanese. |
